Most "restoration shops" lack the proper equipment, reference material, experience and ability to carry out a proper restoration to factory standards or better. Often times, they employ workers who aren't properly equipped to carry out the task at hand. At Cairati, our trained workers are true artisans, skilled in the fine arts of chassis design and fabrication.
Here is Max Cairati with a Lamborghini Miura P400 restoration which required fabrication of a new roof and C pillar sections. We have chassis jigs and original factory drawings which, when paired with a frame table, allow us to rebuild or restore a chassis to exact factory specifications. Most shops will merely "eyeball" the results, as they lack this equipment or the factory drawings.
No job is too large or difficult for the trained team of artisans at Cairati Monterey.
Our jigs, tooling and drawings don't end with the Miura though. Here is a Lamborghini Countach that is under restoration. We also have the tools, drawings, and experience to properly rebuild any aspect of other vintage European super cars such as the Countach and others.
From as early as chassis straightening and metal work, ancillaries such as windows and component parts are assembled onto the car to insure proper fitment and clearance.
Every square inch of the chassis and body are scrutinized during metal work phase of the restoration process. Here, the rear bonnet of a Lamborghini Miura is being fitted for proper alignment and gaps.
Our qualified team can carry out any level restoration of any component to as-new manufacturer standards or better.
This service consists of a full nut-and-bolt restoration of every system and part to concours condition.
Even the most well cared-for examples require maintenance and restoration services from time to time. We can carry out conservation restoration services to any system on the vehicle, whether it be mechanical, suspension, bodywork, electrical or interior.
We also carry out restoration of select component systems, including mechanical, suspension, bodywork, electrical and interior.
At Cairati Monterey, we are qualified to diagnose and repair substandard "repair" or restoration work performed by other shops, as well as upgrade your vehicle's factory specifications to improve their performance.
Sometimes, cars are subject to repair or "restoration" by unqualified technicians or methods. That does not mean your European collector car is destined to a life of mediocrity. Our team is especially adept at inspecting, diagnosing and correcting any sub-standard repairs so your car can return to the road and live the life it deserves, with you at the wheel.
At Cairati Monterey, we are qualified to perform upgrades to your European collector vehicle's factory specifications. Such upgrades include, but are not limited to: suspension (shocks, ride height, spring rate, telemetry); steering (turning ratio, power assist); engine (split sump, dry sump, performance tuning, cam profiling, etc.); transmission (gear ratio change, clutch upgrades).
